POS Software for Shops, Outlets and Counters in Bangladesh

We build POS software for supermarkets, fashion outlets, electronics shops, bakeries and other counters in Bangladesh where the queue never stops. Billing is quick with a barcode scanner, payments can be split between cash, card and bKash, and every shift closes with a cash count the owner can trust.

What Happens at a Counter That Runs on POS Software

POS software is the program your cashier uses to scan items, take payment and print the receipt, and it records every sale as it happens. Behind that one screen, stock goes down, the cash drawer total goes up and the owner's daily report fills itself in.

Many counters in Bangladesh still bill from a calculator and a handwritten memo, or from an old desktop program that only works on one computer. The trouble shows at closing time: the cash does not match, a discount cannot be explained and nobody knows which items sold most.

We plan and build a point of sale system around your counter, your products and your payment habits, then connect it to stock and accounts when you need that.

01

Long queues during rush hours

Typing prices by hand or searching for items on a slow screen keeps customers waiting at Eid, month-start and weekend peaks.

02

The cash drawer rarely matches

At shift change, cash, card slips and mobile wallet payments are counted together, and short or extra amounts cannot be traced.

03

Discounts and voids without a record

A cashier can cut a price or cancel an item after payment, and the owner never finds out who did it.

04

Billing stops when the internet drops

An online-only system freezes during an outage, so staff fall back to paper memos that never reach the records.

05

VAT invoices are made separately

The receipt and the VAT invoice come from different places, so the monthly VAT figures have to be rebuilt by hand.

POS Modules We Can Include

Billing Screen

A fast checkout screen built for the keyboard and scanner, with item search by name, code or barcode and a held-bill option for a waiting customer.

Barcode and Label Printing

Scan manufacturer barcodes or print your own labels with price, so loose and packed items are billed the same way.

Split and Mixed Payments

Take one bill in cash, card and bKash or Nagad together, with change calculated and each method recorded separately.

Cash Drawer and Shift Closing

Open each shift with a float, close it with a counted total and see the difference by cashier, payment method and time.

Prices, Discounts and Offers

Set member prices, buy-one-get-one, combo offers and time-bound discounts, with limits on what each cashier may change.

Returns, Voids and Approvals

Returns and cancelled items need a reason and, above a set amount, a supervisor's approval, all kept in a log.

Stock Update on Every Sale

Each sale reduces stock immediately, with low-stock alerts and a link to purchase records if you keep them in the same system.

Customers and Points

Find a customer by phone number, add loyalty points, record credit sales and send a thank-you or offer SMS.

VAT Invoice

Print a VAT invoice with your BIN and the tax breakdown from the same sale, so the monthly VAT summary comes from the system.

Offline Billing

The counter keeps billing during an internet outage and sends the sales to the central server once the line returns.

Multiple Counters and Outlets

Several counters share one product list and price list, while each outlet keeps its own sales, cash and stock.

Sales Reports

Daily sales, hourly peaks, top items, cashier performance and payment method totals, viewable from the owner's phone.

Users and Activity Log

Cashiers, supervisors and managers get separate rights, and every price change, void and refund is logged by name and time.

Counters We Build POS Systems For

Supermarkets and grocery shops

Stores with thousands of items, weighed goods and long queues that need fast scanning and frequent price updates.

Fashion and footwear outlets

Shops that sell by size and color, run seasonal sales and handle many exchanges.

Electronics and mobile shops

Sellers who must record serial or IMEI numbers on each sale for warranty claims.

Bakeries, cafes and sweet shops

Quick counters selling by piece or weight, often with a short menu and a few staff on each shift.

Pharmacies and cosmetics stores

Counters that need batch and expiry details at billing and quick search by generic or brand name.

What Changes at Your Counter

We set the billing screen up around how your cashiers already work, so the first day at the counter feels familiar rather than new.

  • Shorter queues at busy times

Scanning and saved prices cut the time each bill takes, so peaks pass with fewer walk-outs.

  • Cash you can account for

Each shift closes with expected and counted totals by payment method, and any gap is tied to a cashier.

  • Fewer silent discounts

Price changes, voids and refunds need permission and leave a record, which stops most quiet leakage.

  • Sales keep going in an outage

Offline billing means the counter does not wait for the internet to come back.

  • Daily figures without counting

The owner sees sales, top items and payment totals each evening without asking anyone to add them up.

  • VAT records from real sales

Invoices and VAT summaries come from the same records, which makes the monthly return easier to prepare.

What POS Software Must Get Right

A point of sale screen is used hundreds of times a day by someone with a customer in front of them. That changes the priorities. Pretty dashboards matter less than three things: speed, accuracy and control.

  • Speed. A cashier should finish a normal bill with the scanner and a few keys, without touching the mouse.
  • Accuracy. The price on the receipt must match the shelf, and the stock must drop with each sale.
  • Control. Discounts, voids, refunds and drawer openings must follow rules the owner sets, with a log that cannot be edited.
  • Reliability. Billing must keep working when the internet or the main power fails, as long as the counter itself has power.
  • Clean closing. Each shift ends with a clear count by payment method.

Good POS system software also prints receipts that are easy to read, handles exchanges without confusing the stock count and lets a supervisor step in without logging the cashier out.

Ready-Made POS Software or a System Built for You

Many shops start with a ready-made package, and for a single small counter that can be fine. The picture changes as you grow.

We build the third kind using the Laravel framework, so the code stays readable for any developer you work with later. If you need full shop control with purchase, supplier and branch stock as well, see our page on retail management software.

Bangladesh Notes for a Point of Sale System

Some needs come up at nearly every counter here, and we plan for them from the start.

  • Mobile wallet payments. Many customers pay by bKash or Nagad. The POS should record the transaction ID with the bill, and where the merchant account allows it, we can check payments automatically. Our payment gateway guide explains the options for online collection.
  • VAT invoices. Registered businesses need a VAT invoice with their BIN and the tax amount. If your VAT office requires an EFD or SDC device at the counter, we plan the connection around the device and the guidance you receive.
  • Power cuts and outages. A small UPS keeps the counter PC and printer alive, and offline billing keeps the records whole until the line is back.
  • Bangla receipts and SMS. Item names and thank-you messages in Bangla suit many customers, while supplier codes stay in English.
  • Rush seasons. Eid and month-start crowds test every counter. The screen must stay fast with a long product list and several counters billing at once.
  • Credit customers. Regular buyers often take goods on credit, so the POS should hold their dues and payment history.

How to Choose POS Software

  1. Time a real bill. Ask for a test with twenty of your own items and see how long a cashier takes.
  2. Pull the internet cable. Check what happens to billing during an outage and how sales sync afterwards.
  3. Try a bad day. Process a return, a void, a split payment and a shift closing with a short drawer. Look at what the owner can see afterwards.
  4. Check your hardware. Confirm it works with the printers, scanners, cash drawers and scales you already own.
  5. Ask about data. You should own your sales and product data, be able to export it and know where the backups are kept.

What Affects the Cost

We do not quote a price on this page, because a single bakery counter and a supermarket with several outlets are very different jobs. The cost depends on:

  • The number of counters, outlets and users.
  • Modules such as loyalty, credit sales, serial tracking, weighed goods or VAT invoices.
  • Offline billing and how sales sync between outlets.
  • Hardware integration: printers, scanners, drawers, scales and card terminals.
  • Payment and SMS integrations, and links to accounting or an inventory system.
  • Importing products, prices and opening stock from your current files.

After a requirements call we send a written scope and a quote.

Mistakes Shops Make With a New POS

  • Messy product lists. Duplicate items and missing barcodes slow every bill. Clean the list before import.
  • One shared login. If every cashier uses the same account, the activity log means nothing.
  • Going live on a busy day. Start on a quiet morning, with staff who have billed a few test sales first.
  • No backup plan. Know who to call and what to do if the counter PC fails during a rush.
  • Ignoring the reports. Shift differences and void counts only help if someone reads them each day.

How We Set Up Your POS Software

We start with a requirements call and, where possible, watch the counter at a busy hour. We write a scope listing modules, user rights, receipts and reports, and you approve it before we build.

Development runs through our Laravel development service. We test the billing screen with your cashiers and your real products, import items and opening stock when needed, connect printers and scanners, and set up users. After go-live we support the point of sale software under a maintenance agreement, which needs server access and a contract. If you later open an online shop, the same product list and stock can feed it.

How We Set Up Your POS

  1. Step 1

    Requirements call

We learn what you sell, how many counters you run, how customers pay and what goes wrong at closing today.

  2. Step 2

    Scope and hardware list

We agree on modules, reports and rights, check the printers and scanners you have and send a written quote.

  3. Step 3

    Build and counter test

We build the system and test it with your cashiers on real items before it faces customers.

  4. Step 4

    Product import and setup

We import products, prices and opening stock when needed, connect devices and create user accounts.

  5. Step 5

    Go-live and support

We go live on a quiet day and support the system under a maintenance agreement with server access.

POS Software FAQ

Still have a question?

Our team answers within a few hours on working days.

Ask our team
01 How much does POS software cost in Bangladesh?
There is no fixed price. The cost depends on the number of counters and outlets, the modules you need, hardware and payment integrations, and data import. After a requirements call we send a written scope and a quote.
02 Will billing work when the internet is down?
We can build the counter to keep billing offline and send the sales to the central server once the connection returns. As long as the counter PC and printer have power, for example from a UPS, sales continue.
03 Which printers and scanners does it work with?
It works with common thermal receipt printers, USB and wireless barcode scanners, cash drawers and many weighing scales. We check the devices you already own during the scope stage before buying anything new.
04 Can customers pay by bKash, Nagad or card?
Yes. A single bill can be split between cash, card and mobile wallets, with each method shown in the shift closing. Where your merchant account allows it, wallet payments can be checked automatically.
05 Can it print VAT invoices?
Yes. We can print a VAT invoice with your BIN and tax breakdown from the same sale and produce monthly VAT summaries. If your VAT office asks for an EFD or SDC device, we plan the setup around it.
06 Can you import our products and prices from Excel?
Yes. When needed we import products, barcodes, prices and opening stock from Excel or from your current software. We ask you to check the list before the first day of billing.
07 Can I check sales from my phone?
Yes. The owner's reports open in a phone browser, showing daily sales, top items, cashier totals and shift differences for each outlet.
