Membership Website Development for Associations, Clubs and Creators

We build membership websites for associations, clubs, alumni groups, trade bodies and creators in Bangladesh. People apply and pay online, the committee approves them, renewals are tracked with reminders, and members-only notices, files and content stay behind a login you control.

Members, fees and private content in one place

A membership website lets people join your organization or subscribe to your content online, pay their fees, and reach pages that the public cannot see. We plan and build these sites for professional associations, clubs, alumni groups, chambers and creators in Bangladesh, around the rules your committee already follows.

Most organizations we talk to run membership on paper forms, an Excel sheet and a personal bKash number. The treasurer matches payment screenshots by hand, nobody is sure who has renewed this year, and members-only files sit in a Google Drive folder that anyone with the link can open.

We move that work onto one site: a joining form, an approval step, plan-based fees, renewal reminders, a member area and reports for the committee. You start with what you need now and add events, directories or paid content later.

01

Fees matched to screenshots by hand

Members pay into a personal wallet and send a screenshot, and the treasurer spends evenings matching names, numbers and amounts.

02

No clear list of who is in good standing

Before an AGM or election, the committee cannot quickly say which members have paid this year and which have lapsed.

03

Renewals forgotten on both sides

Nobody reminds members when their term ends, so renewals slip and income drops without anyone noticing until the year closes.

04

Private content shared openly

Circulars, journals or paid videos go out through Facebook groups and Drive links, so non-members read them for free.

05

Joining takes weeks of paperwork

Applicants print a form, attach certificates, find a proposer and wait while papers move between committee members.

Modules we can include in your membership site

Online application and approval

An application form with photo and document upload, proposer details if you need them, and an approval step for the committee or office.

Membership plans and levels

General, life, student, corporate or associate plans, each with its own fee, term, benefits and access rules.

Online fees and renewals

Joining and renewal fees paid through a gateway, with manual entry kept for cash and bank payments, and a receipt for every payment.

Renewal reminders

SMS and email reminders before and after a term ends, with a renewal link that opens the right plan and amount.

Member-only content

Restrict notices, articles, journals, videos and downloads by plan, so each member sees what their level includes.

Member directory

A searchable list of members by name, batch, profession or area, with each member choosing which details are shown.

Digital member ID card

A printable or on-screen ID card with photo, member number, validity and a QR code that shows current status when scanned.

Events and registration

Event pages with separate member and guest fees, seat limits, online registration and an attendance list for the venue.

Notices and newsletters

Post notices to the member area and send them by email or SMS to everyone, one plan or a selected group.

Member dashboard

Each member sees their plan, expiry date, payment history, receipts, ID card and saved downloads after logging in.

Committee and office roles

Separate permissions for president, secretary, treasurer and office staff, so each person handles only their part.

Reports and member lists

Paid, unpaid and expiring lists, income by plan and period, and exports for the AGM, audits or voter lists.

Community and discussion

A members-only discussion board or comment area under posts, moderated by the people you choose.

Donations and special funds

Collect donations or contributions to welfare and scholarship funds, recorded separately from membership fees.

What changes with a proper membership site

We begin with joining, fees and the member area, then add events, directories or paid content when your committee is ready.

  • Payments matched to members automatically

Gateway payments are tied to a member and a plan, so the treasurer reviews a report instead of a pile of screenshots.

  • Standing is clear before every meeting

Paid and lapsed lists are ready at any time, which helps with AGMs, elections and member benefits.

  • More members renew on time

Reminders and one-step renewal links reach members before their term ends, instead of after someone notices.

  • Private material stays private

Notices, journals and paid content open only for logged-in members on the right plan.

  • Joining is faster for applicants

People apply from a phone, upload documents once and see where their application stands.

  • Records survive committee changes

Member history, payments and notices stay on your site when office bearers change, not in one person's laptop.

What a membership website has to handle

Every membership website, whatever the organization, does the same core work. It takes people in, it collects money for a period of time, it decides what each person can see, and it keeps a record that the committee can trust. Notices, events, ID cards and directories are built on top of those four jobs.

The hard part is rarely the design. It is the rules. Who can join, who must approve them, what happens when a member pays late, whether life members ever renew, how a corporate member adds staff. If those rules are not written down before the build starts, the site ends up with exceptions handled by hand, which is exactly what you were trying to stop.

Types of membership website and what each needs

Associations and clubs

A professional association or club needs strong records. Applications often need certificates, a proposer and committee approval. Members want a receipt for every payment, and the office needs paid and unpaid lists before an AGM. A member directory and a digital ID card are common requests here.

Alumni groups

Alumni associations organize by batch and department. They run reunions with separate fees for members, spouses and guests, and they often raise money for scholarships or welfare funds. The directory matters more than paid content.

Paid content and communities

A subscription website for a creator, trainer or publisher is closer to a small online business. The focus is the sales page, plan choice, quick payment and access control on articles, videos or downloads. If your main offer is structured courses with exams, a learning management system is the better fit, and we can connect the two.

WordPress plugin or a custom membership platform

For many associations and clubs, WordPress with a good membership plugin is enough. It handles plans, restricted pages, registration and payments, and your office can manage content easily. Our guide on choosing a WordPress membership plugin compares the common options, and our WordPress website service covers that route.

A custom build makes sense when your rules do not fit a plugin: multi-step committee approval, corporate members with staff seats, member numbers in a set format, voter lists, or links to another system you already use. In that case we build the membership platform on Laravel through our Laravel web application service. After the requirements call we tell you plainly which route fits, and we do not push the larger one.

What affects the cost of a membership website

We do not publish a fixed price. The cost depends on the number of member types and plans, how complex the approval process is, the payment gateway and SMS setup, whether you need a directory, ID cards, events or paid content, how many members we import, and whether a plugin covers your rules or custom work is needed. A small club site with one annual plan is a very different job from a national association with branches, corporate members and an online election list. We quote after a requirements call, with each module listed.

Payments and renewals in Bangladesh

  • Local wallets first. Most members expect to pay by bKash or Nagad, with cards for some. A gateway such as SSLCommerz can cover several methods; our note on the payment gateway options explains the setup.
  • Automatic recurring charges. Automatic monthly charging depends on what your gateway and merchant account allow. Many members here prefer to pay each term themselves, so we build reminders and one-step renewal links that work either way.
  • Offline payments stay. Some senior members will still pay cash at the office or by bank. The treasurer can record those payments so every member sits in the same list.
  • Receipts and reports. Each payment gets a receipt, and the treasurer can export income by plan and period for the audit.

What members see after they log in

Committees usually plan the admin side in detail and forget the member. When someone opens the membership website on a phone, the first screen should answer three things: is my membership active, when does it end, and what is new for me. Below that sit the receipt history, the ID card, upcoming events and the latest notices. If a member has to search for any of these, they call the office instead, and the site saves nobody any time.

Login should also be simple. Many members forget passwords, so we can add login by phone number with a one-time code, or Google Sign-In, alongside the usual email and password. Older members may need the office to reset access, so staff get a safe way to do that without seeing the password.

Mistakes to avoid on a membership site

Do not import the old member list without cleaning it first; duplicate names and wrong phone numbers become duplicate accounts. Do not lock everything behind a login, because the public pages are what convince people to join and help the site appear on Google. Do not make the application form so long that people stop halfway on a phone. Do not leave privacy to chance: members should choose what the directory shows about them. And do not give every committee member full admin access; give each role only what it needs. If you are a non-profit, our article on non-profit website design covers the public side of the site as well.

How setup works

We start with a call about your rules, member types and fees, choose the build route and agree the modules. We build the site, let office bearers test applications, payments and approvals, import and check your current member list, connect the gateway and SMS, and launch. After launch we support the membership site under a maintenance agreement, with access to the hosting and the site.

How we build your membership site

  1. Step 1

    Rules and requirements call

We go through your member types, fees, terms, approval steps, private content and the reports your committee needs.

  2. Step 2

    Choose the build route

We suggest WordPress with a membership plugin or a custom Laravel build, then agree the pages and modules.

  3. Step 3

    Build and committee review

We build the site and let office bearers test applications, payments and approvals before members see it.

  4. Step 4

    Member data import

We import your existing member list, plans and expiry dates from spreadsheets when needed and check them with you.

  5. Step 5

    Launch and support

We launch, send login details to members if you want, and support the site under a maintenance agreement.

Membership & Subscription Website Development FAQ

Still have a question?

Our team answers within a few hours on working days.

Ask our team
01 How much does a membership website cost in Bangladesh?
The cost depends on the number of plans and member types, the approval process, payments and SMS, extras such as a directory, ID cards or events, and how many members we import. A small club site costs much less than a large association with branches. We send a written quote after a requirements call.
02 Can members pay and renew with bKash or Nagad?
Yes. We connect bKash, Nagad or SSLCommerz when needed, so members pay joining and renewal fees online and get a receipt. Cash and bank payments can still be recorded by the treasurer.
03 Can renewals be charged automatically every month or year?
That depends on what your payment gateway and merchant account support. Where automatic charging is not available or not wanted, we send reminders with a renewal link, which many members in Bangladesh prefer.
04 Can our committee approve new members before they get access?
Yes. Applications can wait in a queue until the secretary or committee approves them, and you can add steps such as document checks or a proposer's confirmation.
05 Can you move our existing member list?
Yes. We import members, plans and expiry dates from Excel or an older system when needed. We clean duplicates and check the list with you before members receive login details.
06 Should we use WordPress or a custom build?
WordPress with a membership plugin suits most clubs and associations with simple plans. If you need multi-step approval, corporate seats or links to another system, a custom Laravel build fits better. We recommend a route after hearing your rules.
07 Will the site work in Bangla and on phones?
Yes. Forms, notices and the member area can be in Bangla, English or both, and every page is built for phones first, since most members will apply and pay from mobile.
08 Who owns the member data?
You do. The site runs on your domain and hosting, and member records can be exported at any time. We work on it only under the access and agreement you give us.
