Diagnostic Center Software for Labs and Imaging Centers in Bangladesh
We build diagnostic center software for pathology labs, imaging centers and clinics with a diagnostic wing in Bangladesh. One record follows each patient from the billing counter to sample collection, result entry, signed report and SMS delivery, so dues, referral commission and turnaround are visible every day.
Barcode to signature
One record from sample label to signed report
Bangla & English
Interface text and patient instructions on reports
SMS and PDF
Report-ready alerts and protected online download
Multi-branch
Shared price list with branch-level reports
One system from the billing counter to the signed report
Diagnostic center software is the system that connects your counter, sample room, lab and report desk, so a patient's tests move from invoice to signed report without being typed twice. We plan and build it around the way your center already works, then fix the steps that cause delays or lost money.
Most centers we speak with run on a mix of billing software, Word templates and a commission notebook. That holds up until a second branch opens, a report goes to the wrong patient, or a referring doctor questions a monthly statement. A single system gives every desk the same data and records who did what.
Results typed again and again
Values are written on a worksheet, then retyped into a Word template. Every retype is a chance for a wrong value or a wrong name on the report.
Commission disputes every month
Referral amounts are worked out in a notebook or spreadsheet, so doctors and agents question figures that nobody can trace back to invoices.
Samples lost in the queue
Without barcode labels and a status for each tube, staff cannot tell which samples are collected, running or waiting for a signature.
Dues that are never followed up
Partial payment is common, but unpaid balances sit in a register that no one checks before the report is handed over.
No clear picture across branches
Owners wait for each branch to phone in totals, and discounts or cancelled invoices are hard to check later.
Modules we can include in your diagnostic system
Patient registration and billing
Register walk-in or referred patients, pick tests from the price list, apply packages or approved discounts and print a receipt with a barcode.
Due collection
Record partial payments, show the balance on screen and at report delivery, and list outstanding dues by date or branch.
Referral doctor and agent commission
Set commission by test group for each doctor or agent, calculate it from paid invoices only and print statements for payout.
Sample collection and barcode labels
Print tube labels, record collection time and staff, and follow each sample from collection to result.
Test catalog and reference ranges
Keep tests, units, normal ranges by age and sex, prices and turnaround time in one list that an admin can update.
Pathology result entry
Enter results into per-test templates that flag values outside the normal range, with room for comments.
Imaging and ECG report writing
Templates for X-ray, ultrasound, ECG, CT and MRI reports, with saved phrases so consultants type less.
Verification and digital signature
Results stay in draft until a pathologist or consultant approves them, and any later change is logged with the user's name.
Report delivery by SMS and online
Send an SMS when a report is ready and let patients download the PDF with the invoice number and a short code.
Lab analyzer interface
Where your machines support data export, results can flow into the system instead of being typed by hand.
Doctor chamber serials
Book serial numbers for consultants who sit at your center and show the waiting queue at the front desk.
Reagent and consumable stock
Track kits, reagents and consumables, with alerts for low stock and items close to expiry.
Accounts, expenses and payroll
Record daily cash, bank deposits, expenses and staff salaries next to income from tests.
Branch and owner reports
See daily collection, discounts, cancellations, test volume and dues for each branch from one dashboard.
Who we build it for
Pathology labs
Labs that want clean result entry, barcode tracking and reports that only go out after a signature.
Imaging and diagnostic centers
Centers with X-ray, ultrasound, CT or MRI rooms that need consultant report templates and patient serials.
Clinics with a diagnostic wing
Clinics where the lab bills on its own but shares patients with doctors and wards.
Multi-branch diagnostic groups
Groups with branches and collection points that need one price list and central reports.
Home sample collection teams
Services that collect samples at home and need assigned visits, collection status and online payment.
What changes when the whole center shares one record
Every module is planned around your own test list, report layouts and commission rules rather than a fixed template.
Book a free call-
Fewer typing mistakes on reports
Results are entered once, checked against reference ranges and printed from the same record.
-
Commission you can explain
Each doctor's statement lists the invoices behind it, so a disputed figure can be checked line by line.
-
Dues collected before reports go out
The delivery desk sees any unpaid balance before handing over a report.
-
Quicker answers for patients
Staff can see where a sample stands, and patients get an SMS when the report is ready.
-
Control over discounts
Discounts above a set limit need approval, and each one carries the name of the person who gave it.
-
One view of every branch
Owners see collection, test volume and dues across branches without waiting for phone calls.
What diagnostic center software must do in Bangladesh
A diagnostic center sells a promise: the right test, done on the right sample, reported to the right patient on time. Software for this job has to follow one patient through several desks without anyone retyping a name. In Bangladesh that path usually looks like this. The patient arrives with a doctor's slip, the front desk bills the tests and notes the referring doctor, the sample room labels tubes, the lab enters results, a pathologist or consultant checks and signs, and the report goes out on paper, by SMS link or both.
Good diagnostic center software turns each of those steps into a screen with one job. It also takes guesswork out of the money side: every discount has a name next to it, every due has a date, and every commission comes from an invoice rather than a notebook.
The parts most centers need on day one
- Billing and dues: test selection from a price list, packages, discounts with approval, partial payment and due collection.
- Referral tracking: the referring doctor or agent on each invoice, with commission worked out by test group.
- Sample handling: barcode labels, collection time, and a status that shows which samples are still waiting.
- Result entry: templates per test with units and reference ranges by age and sex, plus free-text reports for imaging.
- Verification and delivery: a signing step for the pathologist or radiologist, then printing, SMS notice and online download.
Lab management system or full diagnostic suite?
Some buyers only need a lab management system for the pathology floor. Others run imaging, ECG, doctors' chambers and a small medicine counter under one roof. Decide which group you belong to before you speak with any vendor. A pure laboratory information management system focuses on samples, results, quality checks and machine data. A diagnostic suite adds the front desk, referral accounts, doctor serials, expenses and branch reports.
If your center also has a medicine counter, the stock and sales side can come from our pharmacy management software plan, sharing one patient record. If you are growing toward indoor beds and wards, look at how a hospital management system would sit on the same data, so you do not pay for the same work twice.
How to choose diagnostic center software
Ask to see your own day, not a sales tour. Bring three real invoices, one with a package, one with a due and one with a referral, and ask how each would be entered. Then check these points:
- Report formats. Can your current layouts, letterhead and consultant signatures be rebuilt, and can staff edit a template without calling the developer?
- Machine interfacing. Which of your analyzers can send results directly? Many hematology and biochemistry machines can export data, but each model needs its own connection, so list your machines early.
- Audit trail. After a report is signed, who can change it, and does the system keep the earlier version?
- Outage behavior. What happens at the counter when the internet drops for an hour?
- Data ownership. Can you take out patients, invoices and results in a standard format whenever you want?
Our article on when a company needs its own system walks through the same decision from the owner's side, and how a web application is built explains the stages of a project like this.
What affects the cost
We do not show a fixed price on this page, because two centers of similar size can need very different builds. The quote depends on:
- the modules you choose, for example pathology only, or pathology plus imaging, chambers and accounts;
- the number of branches, collection points and users who log in at the same time;
- how many lab machines need a direct data connection;
- integrations such as an SMS gateway, bKash, Nagad or SSLCommerz for online payment;
- how much old data needs cleaning and importing;
- whether you host on your own server or on a cloud server.
We share the figure after a requirements call, once we have seen your test list and current forms.
Notes for centers in Bangladesh
Referral commission is part of how many centers here operate, and it is also where most money leaks. Keep commission rules inside the software, tie them to paid invoices only, and print a monthly statement for each doctor or agent. A disputed amount can then be checked against real bills.
Patients and guardians expect an SMS when a report is ready, and many would rather download the PDF than make a second trip. Keep the download link short and protect it with the invoice number plus a code. Reports often need a Bangla line for patient instructions while the medical content stays in English, so templates should handle both.
Power cuts and weak connections are normal. A browser-based system on a good cloud server keeps branches in sync, but the counter still needs an outage plan: a UPS on the router, a mobile data backup, and receipt printing that does not depend on one PC.
Mistakes to avoid
- Letting anyone edit a signed report without a record of who changed what.
- Typing reference ranges into each report by hand instead of storing them once per test.
- Running commission from a spreadsheet that does not match the invoices.
- Accepting a vendor contract that keeps your patient records locked in their format.
- Going live on a busy morning with no trial period, so the first real day is also the first test.
How setup works with Nexteio
We start with a requirements call and a walk through your workflow, then write down your test catalog, price rules, report formats and user roles. We build the software as a web application, usually on Laravel, which you can read about on our Laravel web application service page. After that we import your test list and, when needed, old patient and due records, set up users, and run it beside your current method for a short period. Once your team is comfortable we hand it over, and we can keep supporting it under a maintenance agreement with access to the server.
If you also want patients to find you on Google and book a test online, a medical website can connect to the same booking data. For promotion that keeps patient trust, read our guide to digital marketing for healthcare.
How we plan and set up your system
-
Step 1
Requirements call
We go through your test list, report formats, commission rules and every desk a patient passes.
-
Step 2
Plan the screens
We map each screen and agree on roles, approvals and reports before any building starts.
-
Step 3
Build and connect
We build the system and connect SMS, online payment and lab machines where they support it.
-
Step 4
Import and trial period
We import your tests and, when needed, old records, then run the system beside your current method.
-
Step 5
Handover and support
We hand it over to your team and support it under a maintenance agreement with server access.
