Custom Software Development in Bangladesh for Your Own Process

We plan and build software for businesses in Bangladesh whose work does not fit a ready-made package. Your forms, approvals, branches and reports become one web system that staff use from a computer or phone, and that grows module by module as the business changes.

Bangla & English

Screens, documents and reports

Built in stages

Start with the core and add modules later

Browser-based

Runs on office computers and phones

Your data, your server

Cloud or local hosting chosen with you

Software that follows your process, not the other way round

Custom software development means building a system around the way your business already works, instead of bending your process to fit a ready-made product. The software follows your forms, approval chain, branches and reports, and it grows one module at a time as you need more.

Nexteio is a web and software company that plans and builds these systems for businesses and organizations in Bangladesh. We start with your process, write down exactly what will be built, and deliver it in stages your team can test with real work.

01

Excel files that have outgrown themselves

Several people edit the same sheet, copies multiply, a formula breaks quietly, and nobody is sure which figure is correct.

02

Ready-made software that almost fits

You pay for a package, then keep side sheets for everything it cannot do, so the real work still happens outside it.

03

The same data typed three times

An order is written on paper, entered in a sheet and typed again into accounts, and each copy adds a new chance of error.

04

Approvals with no record

Purchase requests, discounts and leave are approved over WhatsApp or by voice, so later nobody can show who agreed to what.

05

A half-finished system from a past vendor

The previous developer stopped answering, the code has no notes, and staff work around bugs nobody can fix.

What we can build into your system

Records for what you manage

Customers, orders, products, staff, assets, cases or files, each with the fields and statuses your work needs.

Approval workflows

Requests move through the approval chain you set, with each decision, comment and time stored on the record.

Roles and permissions

Who can view, add, edit or approve each record, limited by department and branch.

Branches and companies

Separate data for each branch, factory or sister concern, with combined views for head office.

Documents in your format

Invoices, challans, letters, certificates and statements generated from the data and printed in Bangla or English.

Dashboards and reports

Filters by date, branch and person, with export to Excel or PDF instead of month-end retyping.

Data import

Old records moved from Excel or a previous system after cleaning, with a sample checked by your team.

Payments and dues

Collections through bKash, Nagad, SSLCommerz, bank or cash, with receipts and a running balance per customer.

SMS and email alerts

Messages to customers, suppliers and staff when a status changes, a payment arrives or a due date nears.

Audit log

A history of who changed what and when, so corrections are visible and disputes are easy to settle.

Mobile screens and apps

Screens that work on a phone for field staff and managers, and a mobile app when the work needs one.

APIs and connections

Links to accounting software, attendance devices, websites and other systems you already use.

Hosting and backups

A cloud or local server chosen with you, with scheduled backups kept away from the main server.

Who comes to us for custom software

Manufacturers and factories

Production planning, costing, store and buyer order tracking that general packages handle poorly.

Distributors and traders

Dealer pricing, credit limits, deliveries and collections across territories and sales officers.

NGOs and microfinance bodies

Member records, loan schedules, field collections and donor reports in the formats you must submit.

Service firms

Job tracking, case files, client billing and staff time for consultancies, agencies and contractors.

Founders with a software idea

A first working version of a product, planned so it can grow once real users arrive.

Institutions and associations

Clinics, training centers and member bodies with processes that standard software does not cover.

What a system built for you changes

We suggest starting with the module that solves your biggest problem, so you see it working before committing to the rest.

  • One record instead of many copies

Each order, file or customer lives in one place, and every department sees the same figures.

  • Your process stays yours

The rules that make your business work are built in, rather than dropped to fit a generic product.

  • Approvals with a clear trail

Every request shows who approved it, when and with what comment, which settles arguments quickly.

  • Reports without month-end retyping

Managers open a report and filter it, instead of waiting for someone to assemble sheets by hand.

  • Code and data you control

Ownership of the source code, data and server accounts is written into the agreement before work starts.

  • Room to grow in phases

Start with the module that hurts most, then add the next one when the first is in daily use.

When custom software development makes sense

Most businesses start with paper registers, Excel and a few ready-made apps. That works until the business grows past it. Custom software development makes sense when your work follows rules that off-the-shelf products cannot hold, or when the same data is typed into several places every day. Typical signs:

  • an Excel file that several people edit, with copies named final and final-2
  • approvals that live in WhatsApp chats, paper signatures or verbal permission
  • a ready-made product you pay for but work around with side sheets
  • reports that take a manager a full day to put together at month end
  • a method that gives you an edge, such as a costing formula or a dealer pricing rule, that no package supports

If a standard package covers most of what you need and you are willing to adapt, buy it. Our article on when a company needs its own system walks through that decision in more detail. Building your own is worth it when the process itself matters to your business.

What a custom system usually includes

Every project is different, but most business systems share the same building blocks:

  • Records for the things you manage: customers, orders, products, employees, assets, cases or files.
  • Workflows that move a record from one status to the next, with approvals at the steps you choose.
  • Roles that decide who can see, add, edit or approve each type of record, and at which branch.
  • Documents generated from the data: invoices, challans, letters, certificates and statements in your format.
  • Reports and dashboards with filters by date, branch and person, exported to Excel or PDF.
  • Connections to payment gateways, SMS, devices and software you already use.

When these blocks cover most departments of a company, the result is close to an ERP system. When the goal is to remove repeated manual steps, such as copying form data into a sheet or chasing approvals, it is closer to business automation. Most of our work is built as a Laravel web application that runs in a browser, so staff can use it on office computers and phones without installing anything. Our guide to web application development explains how this kind of system is planned and built.

How to choose a custom software development partner

Many buyers have been let down before: a half-finished app, a developer who stopped answering, or a system nobody else can maintain. Before you sign with any software development company, freelancer or software development agency, check these points:

  1. They ask about your process before talking about technology. A good team wants to see your forms, registers and reports first.
  2. The scope is written down. You should get a list of modules, screens, roles and reports, not a one-line estimate.
  3. You see work in stages. Regular reviews catch misunderstandings early, when they are cheap to fix.
  4. Ownership is clear. The agreement should say who owns the source code, the data and the server accounts.
  5. Support is defined. Ask what happens after launch, what a maintenance agreement covers and what access it needs.

Comparing more than one software company in Bangladesh is easier with a checklist. Our article on choosing a software development company lists the questions worth asking in the first meeting.

What affects the cost of custom software development

We do not quote from a price list, because two systems with the same name can be very different jobs. The quote follows a requirements call and depends on:

  • the number of modules, screens and reports, and how complex the rules inside them are
  • the number of users, roles, branches and approval levels
  • connections with payment gateways, SMS, attendance devices, accounting software or a mobile app
  • how much old data needs cleaning and importing, and from what source
  • hosting on a cloud server or a local server, and backup needs

Building in phases keeps the first cost down. Start with the module that hurts most, use it for a while, then add the next. If you plan to sell the system to other businesses as a subscription, that is a different design with separate accounts for each customer; see our SaaS development page.

Notes for businesses in Bangladesh

Local details shape the design. Staff often prefer Bangla screens while management reads reports in English, so both languages should be planned from the start, including Bangla in printed documents. Customers pay through bKash, Nagad, bank transfer and cash, and each payment needs a receipt and a place in the ledger. VAT figures and challan formats should match what your accountant files.

Many companies run several branches, a factory and a head office, each with its own manager and approval chain. The system should respect that: a branch sees its own data, head office sees everything, and approvals climb the chain you already use. Power cuts and weak connections are common away from the main office, so pages must stay light, and some sites may need a local server that syncs when the line returns. SMS is still the most dependable way to reach customers, suppliers and field staff.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Trying to build everything at once. A huge first release takes longer, costs more and is harder to test. Start with the core.
  • Skipping the people who do the work. The accounts clerk and the store keeper know exceptions that a manager forgets.
  • Copying a paper form screen by screen. Use the move to software to remove steps, not to put waste on a screen.
  • Ignoring data import. Old records in messy sheets need cleaning time. Plan for it.
  • No written agreement on support. Software needs updates, backups and fixes after launch. Agree how that works before go-live.

How a custom software development project runs with us

We start the same way on every project: a call and a walk-through of the work as it happens today. We collect your forms, sheets and reports, then write a scope with modules, roles and reports, and send a quote. After you approve it, we build in stages and show each stage on a test server so your team can try it with real cases.

Before go-live we import your data where it is usable, set up hosting and backups, and stay close during the first days to fix what real use reveals. At handover you receive admin access and the accounts agreed in the contract. After that, we support and extend the system under a maintenance agreement, which needs server access and a contract.

How a custom software project runs

  1. Step 1

    Call and process walk-through

We watch how the work happens today and collect your forms, sheets and reports.

  2. Step 2

    Written scope and quote

You approve a list of modules, roles, screens and reports, with a quote based on that scope.

  3. Step 3

    Build in reviewed stages

Each stage goes on a test server so your team can try it with real cases and ask for changes early.

  4. Step 4

    Data import and go-live

We import usable records, set up hosting and backups, and switch over once your team is ready.

  5. Step 5

    Handover and support

You receive admin access, and we support and extend the system under a maintenance agreement.

Custom Software Development FAQ

Still have a question?

Our team answers within a few hours on working days.

Ask our team
01 How much does custom software development cost in Bangladesh?
It depends on the modules, the number of users and branches, the integrations and how much data needs importing. We send a quote after a requirements call, once the scope is written down. Starting with one core module keeps the first cost lower.
02 How long does a custom software project take?
That depends on the scope, so we give an estimated timeline together with the written scope and quote. Splitting the work into stages means your team can start using the first part sooner, while later modules are still being built.
03 Should we buy ready-made software or have it built?
If a package covers most of your work and you can adapt to it, buying is usually simpler. Building makes sense when your process, approval chain or reports are specific to your business, or when you already work around a package with side sheets. We will tell you honestly if a ready-made option suits you better.
04 Who owns the source code and the data?
Ownership of the source code, data and server accounts is written into the agreement before work starts. Your data stays on the server chosen for you, and you receive admin access at handover.
05 Can you take over software another company started?
Sometimes. We first review the code, database and server to see whether it can be fixed and extended safely. If it cannot, we explain why and suggest rebuilding the parts that matter, reusing your data where possible.
06 Can the software work in Bangla and on mobile phones?
Yes. Screens, printed documents and reports can be in Bangla, English or both. The system runs in a browser and works on phones, and we build a separate mobile app when field work needs one.
07 Can it run on our own server or keep working during internet outages?
Yes. For sites with weak connections we can host the system on a local server that keeps working when the internet drops and syncs when the line is back. Cloud hosting suits most offices; we decide this with you during planning.
08 What happens after the system goes live?
You receive admin access and the agreed accounts. Bug fixes, updates, backups and new features are handled under a maintenance agreement, which needs access to your server and a signed contract.
