Mayabi

The brief

Mayabi sells makeup made for South Asian skin in Bangladesh: lipsticks, glosses, eyeshadow palettes, nail color and brushes. The biggest worry when buying makeup online is the shade, so the store had to show colors clearly and offer help before the order. Wedding season matters too, with gaye holud and reception looks bought in a hurry from a phone.

What we built

• Shop by shade: nine color swatches, from rosewood and classic red to coral and lavender, that show every lipstick, gloss and nail color in that shade.
• Shade picker on product cards, so buyers choose a color before it goes into the bag.
• Bridal edit and get the look: a gaye holud face in four steps with the exact products.
• Makeup for the moment: everyday, bridal, party and office, plus gifts by budget.
• Free shade advice: send a daylight photo and the team suggests two shades.
• Beauty steals with a timer, and checkout with cash on delivery, bKash, Nagad and cards.

How it was built

Mayabi runs on WordPress with our own theme and our own store plugin instead of WooCommerce. The style is rich and feminine: deep berry and rose gold on soft blush, with Bodoni Moda headings and Manrope text. Swatches and photos stay light, so pages open fast on mobile data.
