The brief
Women in Bangladesh buy evening dresses for weddings, receptions and formal dinners, often with the date close. An evening gown store has to help pick the right dress for the event, sell the matching bag and shoes in the same visit, and promise that the fit will be ready on time.
What we built
- Dress for the occasion: wedding guest, reception, cocktail, prom and formal, and engagement.
- Find your length: knee, midi, ankle and floor, with the events each length suits.
- Complete the look: a gown, a clutch and sandals shown together and bought in one go.
- Four categories, gowns, cocktail dresses, clutches and heels, with the length on every dress card.
- Express alteration: the buyer gives her height and heel, and the gown is hemmed in 48 hours.
- Season-end sale with a timer, and a what-to-wear blog on receptions and heels.
How it was built
Chandni is built on WordPress with its own theme and our light store plugin, so it stays fast on mobile data. Product pages carry a dress size chart and a try-at-home note. The style feels like an evening out: the thin Italiana display font, Figtree text, a cream background, deep navy type and a wine red accent. Visitors can switch between English and Bangla.
